Bundles of Energy!

Wow it has been forever since I've been on here. It's crazy how life can get so full of this and that and before you know it, a month has gone by.

Anyway, recently, well maybe about a month or so ago, a friend of ours took some photos of the kids for us. She did a fantastic job! I don't think she's ever had two crazier little kidlets to try and capture on film, and it was definatly a challange for her, but she did a great job! Our kids like to run, and as Shannon discoverd, in oposite directions. It makes me wonder why I'm not thinner trying to keep up with these two monkeys lol.

Shannon had suggested that we use props and get them to pose, at that I honestly laughed and told her that wouldn't be happening, and I don't think she believed me until she witnessed for herself the crazyness of these little ones.

We ended up heading over to Beacon Hill Park. And with shoes off and the sun shining they jumped into the great span of purple without any hesitation. I had this vision of them in that beatiful sea of purple flowers that we get every spring. I am so greatful that we got there in time, because they're all gone now, but we will forever have that day captured from these gorgeous shots.

Anyway, so here are my favorite ones, the rest are posted on my facebook for anyone who wants to take a look. I absolutly love them. There are some especially nice ones of our little Hannah, who with such an expressive face is very difficult to photograph. One of these days we'll get the whole family in there :) But we all know that what's most important is catching these gorgeous little ones before they are too big to be called little.

dSLR

It's no secret that I am huge into my kids. And one of my favorite things to do is take pictures of them. I love the way a picutre can capture a moment, still in time, just as it was. I love to scrapbook, and post on facebook. I love to share my captured moments of my two most favorite things. And NOW I am in the market for a new camera. I have actually saved and budgeted for this moment and it's finally here! I am so excited. I am looking to get into a dSLR or a digital fancy camera as I like to call it. I really want to be able to upgrade the quality of my photos from the get go. But now here's the question, where to start?? I've looked up consumer reviews and whatnots, but does anyone have a preferance or experiance with their camera choices that they would like to share?? Thanks ya'll :)

Recipes???

I love to cook, but I also like to do it well. I'm generally a little timid in the kitchen, especailly with two kiddies and a picky eater husband. Does anyone know of any great recipes that won't take too long and are a guaranteed success??? I would love your input.

Growing up or growing old

Tomorrow is my birthday. 24 years old I'll be. I feel like I am starting to get old. Maybe that doesn't make sense seeing as 30 is still a good 6 years away, but I feel like it's starting to creep up on me. So much to do and so little time doesn't even begin to describe how I'm feeling right now. Old old OLD!!!

I asked not only for a membership, but the time and opportunity to do yoga, EVERY day. Maybe that will add a few extra years onto me :) Come try yoga, its not only rejuvinating but it actually reverses time. I can hope anyway

Talking, or Talking Back?

For those of you who don't know the story with David, I will let you know. It's not a long one, so bear with me.:) When Hannah was born, David was 19 months. He had 15words, and was coming along in colours and numbers etc. A week later he stopped talking. No letters, no numbers, no words, nothing. He didn't start again until after he was two, around the time when we all began to feel like normal was setting in again. Aparantly this sort of thing is completely normal, and caused by stress. It has nothing to do with his intelligance or his mental capabilities. Since then he's been working with a speech therapist just to catch him up. He's still behind, but every time he blows them away with his sparkling personality and the progress he makes.

So when my little three year old says something to me, anything, even if it's a naughty word or something mean, although I have to dicipline I can't help but smile inside becuase he's saying something.

Today getting ready for church, I was just finished my hair and I said to him "how do I look?". He looks me up and down, ponders for a minute, finger on mouth with a loud "hmmmm". He says "Mummy what happend to your hair? It's crazy. It's ugly!". I can't say I was too thrilled, if anything at the comment. Considering I thought I looked pretty good. But I have to say, I'm not excited by what he's saying, but that he's saying it. And now to go fix my hair, oh flat iron how I do love thee.

Sent with Love

For fhe this week and next we've been working on an on going project. James' brother Jeff is serving a military tour in Afghanistan, and has just returned after leave for Christmas. We were so sad to see him go, but wanted a way to keep him in our everyday (especially with small kids). So we came up with the plan to send out care packages, and make an effort to do them as on going projects. Send one, start another. We also email him nearly every day and ask the kids to say a few words, or babbles from Hannah.

In searching for some good ideas of what to send I came across this fantastic list on someones blog. Neadless to say, she is a military mom. She seems to know the ins and outs, and I am greatful for her help:) http://militarymomathome.blogspot.com

We now have a few more things to add to his package, and next Monday we should be sending it out. It's just one small way that we can give all our love to someone who is so far away. We miss you Jeff.

New year, new me?

I love being a mom. I absolutely adore it. I love haveing two beautiful little people that I get to take care of. To bath, feed, dress and adorn with love. They are the most perfect things I have ever come across, at least in my opinion :)

But sometimes, I feel like, even though I'm making the worlds of two tiny people, I want to do more. I want to have a say in the rest of the world. I don't want to sit back behind my front door and watch while everyone has dreams and ambitions. I have dreams and ambitions, and I want a little piece of me to shine out there in the big bad world.

I watch movies written, directed, and staring a cast of people living their dreams. I read books written by someone living their dream. I drive a car, dress in clothes, combe my hair with tools designed by people living a dream. I have dreams. I want to live by my dreams, I want Diem to Carpe. I want not only to see every square inch of this beautiful gift of a planet, but I want to leave my mark on it as well.

I suppose only time will tell if that's in my plan. But someone once told me, that the desiers of our hearts are not put there so we can not see them reached.
